GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. WE'RE THE PROFESSIONALS

COMPANY DIRECTOR NEIL MCHUGH IS A QUALIFIED ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST (BA. MSC. OXFORD) WHO HAS GAINED EXTENSIVE GEOTECHNICAL EXPERIENCE WORKING ON THE STAFF OF CONSULTING ENGINEERS AND GEOTECHNICAL CONTRACTORS IN THE UK AND NZ.

AVALON specialises in slope stability investigation and remediation in high and difficult access locations, including hazard and risk assessments. We carry professional indemnity insurance and offer a full consultancy service including interpretative reports and remedial designs.

WORKING WITH YOUR TEAM

Our height and rope access specialists include a number of geotechnically trained staff, but if you’ve got your own people, it’s not a problem. AVALON regularly works closely with many of New Zealand's major consulting engineers, local authorities, Damwatch, IGNS and other specialists.

We have systems and procedures in place allowing us to get our clients’ representatives into most locations, using rope access, under our safety control. This enables our clients to fully meet HSE Act, OSH compliance and insurance obligations whilst allowing them to safely inspect slopes and rock faces at close quarters.

SITE INVESTIGATION

AVALON has the ability to conduct site investigations in high and difficult locations using industrial rope access techniques. We provide a rapid response throughout New Zealand and our investigations are often combined with emergency rock scaling.
