We’re a relatively small company employing approximately thirty staff so our management team take a hands-on approach. We know our people by name. We also know all their strengths. When you talk to us, you can be sure you’re dealing with the people at the very top.

Our Director and Management team are involved in contract management on a day to day basis, giving us the freedom to work with our clients to solve problems, make decisions quickly, adapting and committing as required.

    Avalon has been operating in NZ since 1996, specialising in High/Difficult access works. Our two most senior staff have been involved in industrial rope access since its inception in Europe in the late 1980’s.

    Avalon is extremely well positioned as one of the largest players in the NZ rope access industry. However, management remains ‘hands on’ and we pride ourselves on a high degree of availability and excellent Client communication. Our reputation brings the best staff to us.

  • Location:

    Avalon is based in Hamilton, which allows us to provide a very rapid response for clients over the central and Northern North Island. We also have South Island based staff. We can (and do) work anywhere in New Zealand and we’ve often been called to work on challenging projects abroad.

  • Equipment & Resources:

    Our personnel are our most important resource and we attempt to recruit and keep the best people in the industry. On the equipment side, our dedicated store man maintains a very well stocked store to handle all contingencies. Active connections with the European industry keep us up to date with the latest developments.

  • Professionals:

    Avalon is not typical of rope access companies. For us, rope access is simply our way to the worksite. We specialise in two fields of operation; geotechnical and structural (we do very little window cleaning, banner installation, etc). Our major repeat clients include NZTA, Local Authorities, Major Contractors, Power Generators and Infrastructure Operators.

  • Geotechnical Expertise:

    Avalon offers investigation and design services and has an in house M.Sc. qualified Engineering Geologist with 20 yrs experience.
